She went on to complete her residency at Emory University School of Medicine and internship at Boston City Hospital Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Sharpe is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Academy of Dermatological Surgeons and the National Medical Association. She was voted as one of the top Physicians in the United States in 2005 by Who's Who of American Physicians. In the time away from her busy schedule, Dr. Sharpe greatly enjoys dancing salsa.
